About Us

Why we started: 

    In order for you to understand the WHY of this business venture, I need to share something very personal. When I was 18 years old I had a baby girl named Jenny. This idea and all that surrounds it is dedicated in loving memory of my little angel Jenny. She was born 3 months premature and lived most of her short life in the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. As you can imagine this was the most trying time of my life. With the help and support from Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Ronald McDonald House Charities, I somehow got through this to go on. I have never forgotten the doctors and nurses, even their names, who helped myself and Jenny as best they could. Throughout my life, I have always wanted to give back to these organizations who helped us so much and to help others who, God forbid, would find themselves in similar situations. 
    My idea started with the notion of making a box or keepsake to keep my memories of Jenny and the few things I did have to remember her short but loving life in. And so began the Baby Memory Boxes.  Still remembering those doctors and nurses, I decided to donate 20% of all proceeds from Baby Memory Boxes to be divided equally between Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Ronald McDonald House Charities to help those who had once helped me. 
    With the help, love and support of my family, friends, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Ronald McDonald House Charities, the dream of the Baby Memory Boxes took flight. 

    Have you ever found or received that "little something" that you knew you just had to keep and wondered where will I put this for safe keeping? We have created "Personalized Keepsake Boxes" for just this type of situation; personalized and designed by you. Whether it be your child's first tooth, haircut or even wrist band from birth to that special movie ticket, a stone from the beach, a feather from a walk in the park, a leaf from an Autumn treasure hunt or any other memento you would cherish, we can create a personalized keepsake box for you. 
    Each keepsake box is hand crafted beginning with a shell made of wood approximately 6" x 4" by 1" deep.  Each box is covered in clay, lined, hinged, complete with a clasp; and all designed by you making each box unique, personalized and one-of-a-kind.  
    We also have "Treasure Tins" varying in size, each unique and hand crafted. These tins are lined and covered in clay and can also be personalized by you.  Our decorative containers are beautifully designed and hand crafted. They can be used for candles, as vases or just for decoration. All can be personalized by you. If you see a memory box or a decorative box or container you like but don't like the color or the flowers, contact us and we will work together to make a unique gift item just for you!

  

    Throughout the trial and error months of creating the Memory Box, other ideas came to me through my family. I am a relatively new grandmother and my daughter said she would like a Memory Box for my new grandson Jackson. Next, our 8 year old son Cole, who is always collecting something i.e.; cool pebbles, neat leaves, twigs that look like an alphabet letter, said he would like a special place to keep his treasures. So came to be the Nature Memory Box. Not wanting to be left out, our 16 year old son Tyler wanted something special and unique for his girlfriend for Valentines Day. He told me what her favorite color was and what type of style she liked so I created one for her to keep all her precious mementos in such as a movie ticket stub, love notes from Ty, and the ever-so-important document recording all the firsts for their relationship, hence the Teen Memory Box.  My husband who, by the way, has a tendency to misplace things like his keys, or watch or anything that is not directly attached to him, needed a place to put his "accessories" in. He chose an already designed tin. We found the boxes and tins could be used for so many reasons, we decided to leave it up to our customers to design one that fits their individual needs.
